In our Western society, our relatively Manichean vision of things makes us consider day and night as two moments totally disconnected from each other, opposed. The light, which illuminates the day, is then seen as a vector of intelligence and progress while the darkness of the night is experienced as a source of fear and danger. The analogy of Yin and Yang is found in all things and all beings: up and down, front and back, hot and cold, masculine and feminine.
